The day I had to say STOP.

It’s been a while since my last post. Yesterday I post a picture on my instragram account saying I will quite ridding for some time. That I need rest. I was hard to admit. But it will be even harder to do it. I’m not sure I will succeed in this… One reason is that it looks like we’ll have a better autumn than summer. And I love autumn. The other reason is that I can’t just stop and do nothing. 
It’s been months I’m struggling with tiredness. It was just before the Liège Bastogne Liège Challenge I did with my Dad. Could you imagine how I felt after that ? Empty. I never ate so much in my whole life. For weeks. I had to refill my body. Right after that, I’ve started my new job so I had less time to ride and I thought I will be better for me. That I will recover… but it was just getting worse and worse. So you start thinking you might need more specific training so you go harder… Worse ! And then you just don’t know what to do. I tried to ride only for great occasion but still… 
My legs are so heavy. I fill them all day long. And its not just the legs. So your whole body is trying to say “hey you have to stop” but you didn’t train all winter to stop like this so you scream “shut up legs”. 
So yesterday, finally, I add to admit. I need to stop for some time.
I will stop for 2014. My next ride will be for 2015. For not on. That means I can start to build 2015 in November all ready. I will stay as long as I can on my CX bike. I will try cross country skiing, swimming… To change and clear my mind. Without doing to much. Just what I need to stay fit.

Team Sky is the Godwin’s law of cycling.

You can do whatever you want, when it comes to doping Team Sky is always the black Sheep. If it’s not to everyone, it is a fact for all the people interested by every kind of sports and for who cycling is equal to Tour de France. And also for all the people interested in cycling but only for the show and not sport.
These people are very active on the internet and particularly in the comment parts at the end of the articles.
Last episode is when they announced blood samples of the Tour will be tested to AICAR.
On Cyclingnews.com, third comment is “Bad news for Sky”.
This is why I always refuse to participate in this kind of debate. You can’t have a conversation with someone who is so hateful. 

Doping is more than a team or a person.
It’s a problem that has to be solved by the athlete, teams, UCI, government, WADA and public ALTOGETHER.

It does not help to advance the Schmilblick as we say in Switzerland.

LEGALIZE ROUBAIX ! Bad buzz for Specialized.

I really don’t get why Specialized is pressuring this small bike shop to change his name. Why do they care ? Before yesterday Specialized had a nice image and now everybody knows the story and we see #boycottspecialized almost everywhere. Bad buzz for the californian brand. Hope Specialized will step back and that the Café Roubaix will have the benefit of the whole story.

The Bircher Müesl’G
Switzerland is famous for chocolate, bank and watches and also for his great breakfast full of energy like the Bircher Müesli. It was invented around 1900 by the Dr Müesli. The bircher consist of a bowl a cereals with milk, honey and an apple. Perfect breakfast but also a very good recovery meal. 
The problem is I can’t drink milk anymore and I have Gluten intolerance. And most of the time, after a long day on the saddle, I’ve had enough of sugar. 
This is how I invented the salty Bircher Müesli renamed, in hommage of his inventor The Bircher Müesl’G. 
Receipt: 
100 gr of cooked cereal (You can do a mix of wheat, spelt, buckwheat, millet or quinoa)
15 pistachios
2 dried tomatoes
Parmigiano
Olive oil & balsamic vinegar
Cook the mix of cereal before you go out for a ride. Leave in the pan with a fallen of olive oil. Come back from your ride, take a shower. Sliced the dried tomatoes and add it with the pistachios to the cereal. Sliced some parmigiano. Add some olive oil and vinegar and enjoy it. 
This is a perfect accompaniment for your scrambled eggs (or however you like them) and avocados. Because to eat avocados after your ride you have. 
Oh, and by the way, it’s also a perfect hangover meal !

Instagram vs Tumblr, French vs English and CX vs Road Bike

And suddenly I was not posting anything on my tumblr anymore. Instagram is so easy to use I totally forget to update my tumblr.

This situation make me think about my tumblr page. What should I do ? Should I link it to my Instagram account and just post the same pictures on both ? Or should I maybe write a little bit more about cycling ? That would be great. I like writing but who’s gonna read me ? My english is not 100% perfect so maybe I should write in French as it will be more comfortable for me but most of my followers are english speaking people… Arrrggh….

The other big decision was I decided to buy a CX bike… I wanted to start CX 3 year ago, but never made the step… Damn it’s so much fun.
